紀山石は福島県いわき市と平田村にまたがる上三坂地区の芝山で採石されているグラナイト系統の石です。
風化に強く、硬く輝く美しさは人々を魅了してきました。
まるで、シルクのような美しい肌をした紀山黒石。
北陸では他にこのような花崗岩は産出されず、福島の地質がいかに特別であることがわかります。
石英と長石と黒雲母が主成分で、日光を浴びるとキラキラした黒雲母が、石の表面に浮くように見えるのも魅力のひとつです。
個体差はありますが、微弱なマイナスイオンとホルミシス効果が認められます。

Kizan Stone is a granite-type stone that is quarried at Shibayama Mountain in the Kamimisaka district in Fukushima Prefecture. The charm points of Kizan Stone are it is resistant to weathering, shiny and beautiful. Kizan Stone has a smooth texture like silk. This is the only granite that produced In Hokuriku region so this indicates how special the geology of Fukushima Prefecture is. Quartz, feldspar and biotite are the main components. The biotite that glitters when exposed to sunlight makes it look like floating on the surface of the stone and this is also one of the charm points of Kizan Stone.
