御嶽黒光真石

御嶽山は、富士山に次ぐ2番目高さの3,067m。
古くから霊山とされ、江戸時代より、この石で霊神碑(れいじんひ)が制作され、御嶽山の守護石として2万という数が至る所に鎮座しています。
自然石信仰の御嶽山では、霊神の名前を印した御嶽黒光真石を建て、信者がこの山に眠れることでもあるといわれています。
御嶽黒光真石は安山岩で、玉石の状態で採掘され、ガラス光沢のある黒で、よく見ると細かな模様が入っており、一つとして同じものがありません。

The height of Mount Ontake is 3,067m, the second highest mountain in Japan after Mount Fuji. It has been considered a sacred mountain since ancient times. Since the Edo period, monuments to the deities have been made from this stone, and there are 20,000 of these enshrined throughout the mountain as guardian stones. Mount Ontake is a place of worship for natural stones, and it is said that believers can sleep on this mountain as they erect the ONTAKE Black Stone which seal the names of the deities. ONTAKE Black Stone is andesite, quarried as cobblestone, and the color is black with a vitreous luster. Upon close inspection, they have intricate patterns and no two stones are exactly the same.
