熊野速玉石

2004年に「紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道」としてユネスコ世界遺産に登録された熊野三山のひとつ「新宮」の深い味わいのある色味の石です。
伊勢神宮へ参拝するときに熊野古道を通り、熊野三山にある3つの大社(熊野速玉大社、熊野本宮神社、熊野那智大社)の参拝も古来より行われておりました。
この新宮は薬師如来が祀られる大社が今もなお生きた信仰としてあり、その同じ名前がついている石であるということは非常に興味深いところです。
神倉神社にはゴトビキ岩といわれる巨石を祀る場所もあります。

This is a stone with a deep color that represents Shingu, one of the three Kumano mountains, which was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 as a sacred site and pilgrimage route in the Kii Mountain Range.
When visiting Ise Jingu, it has been customary since ancient times to pass through the Kumano Kodo and visit the three major shrines in the three Kumano mountains (Kumano Hayatama Taisha, Kumano Hongu Shrine, and Kumano Nachi Taisha).
It is very interesting that this Shingu shrine is a shrine where Yakushi Nyorai is enshrined and is still a living cult, and this stone bears the same name.
Kamikura Shrine also has a place where a huge rock called Gotobiki Rock is enshrined.
