和泉青石

大阪市南部で産出される県の石です。
和泉青石は、大阪の史跡に指定されている岸和田城の城壁にも使用されています。
岸和田城は、織田、豊臣、徳川時代と移り行く歴史の流れと共に、城主が変わっていったお城です。
後期白亜紀の和泉層群にみられる砂岩で、海岸から海底に広がるキメの細かな石です。
西南日本の中央構造線に沿って分布する地層で、青みがかかった灰色は和泉ブルーや大阪ブルーと呼ばれています。
鳴門で同一の性質のものが採取されます。

This is a prefectural stone produced in the southern part of Osaka City. Izumi Bluestone is also used in the walls of Kishiwada Castle, which is designated as a historic site in Osaka. Kishiwada Castle is a castle whose owners changed over the course of history, from Oda to Toyotomi, and Tokugawa eras. It is a sandstone found in the Izumi Group of the late Cretaceous period, and is a fine-textured stone that spreads from the coast to the sea floor. This stratum is distributed along the central tectonic line in southwestern Japan, and its bluish-gray color is called Izumi Blue or Osaka Blue. One with the same properties is collected in Naruto.
