褶曲岩(しゅうきょくがん)ともいわれ、一億年前の断層付近から採取されたものです。
プレートの強大な熱と圧力の中で変形し、独特な波模様を表した岩です。
一億年前といえば恐竜全盛期の時代で、その時の日本列島がどうであったかがわかる貴重な石です。
断層が繋がっている兵庫県沼島のさや状褶曲岩は兵庫県指定重要文化財に指定されています。
変成結晶片岩の一種で、鉄、マグネシウム、アルミニウム、炭素などが複雑にクロライトに含有され、黒い層を成し、それに白いケイ素が層状になっています。
キラキラしたスチルプロメレンを含む場合もあり、大変貴重な石です。

Also called folded rock, it was collected near a fault that formed 100 million years ago. It is a rock that has been deformed by the intense heat and pressure of the plates, and shows a unique wave pattern. 100 million years ago was the heyday of the dinosaurs, and this is a valuable stone that shows what the Japanese archipelago was like at that time. The pod-shaped folded rock in Numashima, Hyogo Prefecture, where the faults are connected, is designated as an important cultural property of Hyogo Prefecture. It is a type of metamorphosed crystalline schist, and iron, magnesium, aluminum, carbon, etc. are complexly contained in chlorite, forming black layers, on which white silicon is layered. It may also contain sparkling stilbromylene, making it a very valuable stone.
