五色さざれ石

高知県仁淀川の銘石。
仁淀川は“日本一の清流”といわれ”仁淀ブルー”と呼ばれるほど川が美しく透明度が高いことが知られています。
この地域で採取できる五色の石は、インテリアや庭石として広く使われます。
四国ではアークナイトやソロモナイト、水晶などさまざまな色味が見られる地域ですが、一部の場所で五色の色が見られる場所は淡路島の五色浜など一部の地域でしか見ることができない銘石です。
五色が礫岩となったものを五色さざれ石と呼びます。
現在はいずれも採掘が法律上禁止されており、採取することはできません。

Japan stones from the Niyodo River in Kochi Prefecture. The Niyodo River is known as the "clearest river in Japan" and it is known for its beautiful transparency so much. Therefore, it is also called “Niyodo River Blue”. The Five colors Stone that can be collected in this area are widely used as interior decoration and garden stones. In Shikoku area, various stones such as arcnite, solomonite, and quartz can be seen, but the Five Colors Stone can only be seen in limited places, such as Goshikihama on Awaji Island. When the Five Colors Stone become conglomerate, they are called Five Colors Sazare Stone. Currently, mining of all of these stones is prohibited by law so they cannot be collected.
