諫早石

戦国武将龍造寺あらため、諫早氏が納めていた長崎県諫早市で産出する硬質砂岩です。
龍造寺隆信は九州三強の戦国武将で迅速な決断力があることに定評がある。
ルイス・フロイスの記録では「カエサルの迅速さと知恵でも企てられない」と評するほどの決断力だったとされます。
龍造寺から諫早を名乗るようになったのは、龍造寺四家のうちの家晴からの時代になります。
諫早家領地は非常に石高も高く、裕福であったとされています。
諫早石は、その領地で産出された銘石のひとつです。

This hard sandstone is produced in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, where the Sengoku period warlord Ryuzoji, formerly known as the Isahaya clan, was located. Ryuzoji Takanobu was one of the three most powerful Sengoku period warlords in Kyushu, and was known for his quick decision-making ability. In the records of Luis Frois, he described his decisiveness as being "unparalleled even by the speed and wisdom of Caesar." The name Ryuzoji was changed to Isahaya during the time of Ieharu, one of the four Ryuzoji families. The Isahaya family's territory was very high, and they were said to have been wealthy. Isahaya stone is one of the Japan stones produced in that territory.
