男鹿石

男鹿石(寒風石ともいいます)は男鹿半島の東部にある国定公園の寒風山という火山の石です。
2万年前に噴火が続きましたがその後は2700年ほど前に火砕流が発生したのみで、目立った火山活動はありません。
輝石安山岩の部類になりそれに玄武岩を含みます。
磁鉄鉱や普通角閃石、普通輝石、かんらん石、エジリン・エジリン輝石を含む個性的な石です。
石をよく見るといろんな石を巻き込んで溶岩が噴火したことがわかる痕跡があります。
異説もあるが寒風山はアメリカのグランドキャニオン、ノルウェーのフィヨルドと並び世界三景の一つといわれるほどの美しい景色が広がる場所です。

Oga stones (also called Kanpu stones) are stones from MT. Kanpu, a volcano in a quasi-national park in the eastern part of the Oga Peninsula. Eruptions happened continually on 20.000years ago, but after that time, there has been no notable volcanic activity, except for a pyroclastic flow happened around 2700years ago. it is a type of pyroxene andesite, which also included basalt. It is a unique stone that contains magnetite, hornblende, augite, olivine and aegirine. If you look closely at the stone, you can see traces of lava eruptions that engulfed various types of stone.
Although there is other opinion, it is said that MY Kanpu is a place that has beautiful scenery and it is one of the three most scenic spots in the world, along with the Grand Canyon in the United Stated and the Fjords of Norway.
