「美の女神」と呼ばれる石です。
桃太郎伝説で有名な備前の地。
日本語名は絹雲母で粘土系鉱物です。
そのうち三石は蝋石の産地で、古くから白い陶器やチョークなどに利用されてきました。
蝋石だけでなくセリサイトやシリカ(珪石)も採掘され、地質的にも大変豊かです。
近くでは良質の粘土が産出されるため備前焼が有名です。
この地域の珪石、セリサイト、蝋石はマイナスイオンや放射線が検出される健康にも有効な石です。
長石が変質し、鉄、マグネシウム、カルシウム等が溶脱してセリサイトになります。
