三波石が産出する群馬県の石です。
三波石に赤紫のぶどう色と淡いマスカットグリーンが混ざる美しい石で、光沢と波のような模様が特徴です。
ジュラ紀末期から白亜紀初期にかけ、高圧低温(600〜700気圧、200〜300度)の環境下で変成した結晶片岩で、発達した片状構造を持ちます。
含まれる鉱物によって、青緑・黄緑・白・赤などの色が見られます。

This is a beautiful stone from Gunma Prefecture, where Sambaishi is produced. This stone is Sambaishi mixed with a reddish-purple grape color and pale muscat green.
It is characterized by its luster and beautiful patterns.
It is a crystalline schist metamorphosed at high pressure and low temperature (200-300°C, 600-700atm) from the late Jurassic to the early Cretaceous period, and has a well-developed schistosity. The color tone varies depending on the metamorphic minerals, with colors such as blue-green, yellow-green, white and red.
