御嶽神社があり大きな裾野を広げる独立峰、木曽御嶽山で産出された高野槇の神代木。
御嶽山は約5200年前の火砕流を伴う噴火を含め、2万年間に4回のマグマ噴火を起こしています。
その為運良く出てきた神代は珍しいとされています。
この神代高野槇は甘い香りが漂います。
神代になって残る木は脂分が多く硬い木が多いと言われ、高野槇の神代は簡単に目にできるものではありません。
もともと木曽五木の1つとしても知られる高野槇。
水に強くて朽ちにくいことから、現在でも湯船材や橋梁材として重宝されています。
高野山では霊木とされ、和名は、高野山真言宗の総本山である高野山に多く生えていることに由来しています。

The trees that come Jindai an are still here have a lot of resin and are hard, so it said that Jindai Koya Pine is not easy to find.
Koya Pine is know as one of the five famous tree species of Kiso.
Considered a sacred tree of Mt Koya, it`s name come from the fact that this species of tree grow abundantly at Mt Koya where the head or the head temple of the Mt. Koya Shinngon sect is Located
