神代杉 【パワーズウッド】

神代杉

日本神話で神武天皇の在位する以前までの時代（紀元前660年以前）のことをさします。
昔から眠りつづけているという意味で、天変地異により、偶然できた貴重な環境で千年単位で生きたまま腐らず埋ってしまったきといわれています。
土地開発等により偶然発掘され、高級日本建築の装飾や、工芸品の製作に用いられています。
長い間火山灰を多く含む地中に埋まっていたことにより、それらから作られる製品は通常の杉とは違う色になります。

A very rare and valuable cedar wood that has been buried in volcanic ash for hundreds of years without rotting.
After oil and moisture have been removed this wood takes on various colors (tinged with brown, bluish-back ect) and it has a characteristic unique texture.
This beauty is truly a mystery of nature that cannot be replicated artificially.
In addition, as timber, this wood is very beautiful, has a fine wood grain and shines when polished.
Some beautiful and ling-lived trees are sold for millions of yen.
The raw wood appears yellowish the moment it is split and turn bluish and after one month in become grayish green.
