神代欅（けやき）

神代（かみよ）とは、日本神話で神武天皇の在位する以前までの時代（紀元前660年以前）のことをさします。
昔から眠りつづけているという意味で、天変地異により、偶然出来た貴重な環境で千年単位で生きたまま腐らず埋まってしまった木といわれています。
土地開発等により偶然採掘され、高級日本建築の装飾や、美術工芸品の製作に用いられています。
欅は材としては堅く日本家屋の建築材料としても古くから使用され、神社仏閣にも多く用いられました。
磨くと著しい光沢を生じ、このような美しさも人々の心の拠りどころとなり、昔から尊ばれてきました。

Characterized by not having much of scent peculiar to Zelkova it`s a wood that was heavy and hard before becoming Jindai.
Jindai Zelkova become white when it gets wet in water, that`s why is necessary to have a lot of care.
It is been loved for a long time as a material for the construction of a Japanese house, and it was often used in shrines and temples.
When polished, it produced a remarkable luster a kind of beauty that was loved and revered since ancient times.
Today this time of wood is expensive and hard to obtain.
