紫鉄刀木（むらさきたがやさん）

ミレシア属には学名 M.pendula と M.laurentii があり、前者はアジア産で和名では紫鉄刀木、またミレシア、チンウィンと呼ばれ、後者はアフリカ産で主にウェンジ (Wenge) 、その他ジゲラ 、パリサンドルドコンゴなどと呼ばれます。
カッシア属の鉄刀木とは別物です。
材は空気に触れると暗褐色から紫褐色になり、規則的で美しい年輪の縞が見えます。
非常に硬くて重く、装飾的な用途が高いため建築材としての価値も高いです。
ジア産の良質材の挽きたては赤紫色であるところです。
現在流通しているのは、当時輸入された材のみです。
タイ・ビルマでは、鉄刀木より紫鉄刀木の育成分布本数が元々少ないといわれていて、今では貴重な材で幻の材となりつつあります。
特に入手が難しくなってきた良質な紫鉄刀木はかなり貴重です。

Freshly ground high-quality wood from Asia has a reddish-purple color. Currently, only the materials imported at that time are in circulation.
In Thailand and Burma, it is said that the growing number of Shitetsutoki trees is less than Senna siamea, it is on the verge of becoming a valuable and phantom wood now. In particular, high-quality Shitetsutogi, which has become difficult to obtain, is quite valuable.
