Yamanashi Crystal (Yamanashi Prefecture) [Famous Stones of Japan]
Yamanash quartz
Yamanashi Crystal
The Kinpu Mountain area in northern Yamanashi Prefecture is a series of steep, mysterious, and beautiful mountains where crystals lie dormant.
Currently, conservation surveys are being carried out on the remains of the mine, and entry to the mountain is prohibited, so it is not possible to see the crystals in their natural state.
For this reason, domestically produced crystals with excellent transparency and luster are becoming increasingly rare.
This region is known as one of the leading producers of quartz, and has been loved by people since ancient times.
Some Yamanashi quartz crystals contain unique inclusions and bubbles that remain trapped inside.
