This is a historic stone, with an anecdote that the Dangobashi monument and Kinbashi bridge were made from this Yoshino stone.
The Dango Bridge, built during the Sengoku period, no longer exists, and only a monument stands there.
Legend has it that in Nakahara, Yoshino Village, there lived a strong samurai named Hara Osumi no Kami who served Otomo Sorin. He brought a huge stone weighing 100 kan from the mountain behind the village under his arm and built a bridge to replace one that had been washed away by heavy rain.
