Oga stone (also known as Kanpu stone) is a stone from a volcano called Kanpuzan, located in a national park in the eastern part of the Oga Peninsula.
Eruptions continued 20,000 years ago, but since then there has been no significant volcanic activity, with the only notable exception being a pyroclastic flow about 2,700 years ago.
It is classified as pyroxene andesite, which includes basalt.
This is a unique stone that contains magnetite, amphibole, augite, olivine, aegirine, and aegirine.
