This Sanskrit character symbolizes the highest-ranking Buddha in Japanese Esoteric Buddhism, Dainichi Nyorai, in the highest state of enlightenment.
It is said to ward off misfortune and hardship and grant good fortune and longevity.
The beautiful grain of Zelkova wood is used. Zelkova is an expensive wood that is often used for temples and shrines.
The trees at Mount Koya, founded by Kobo Daishi, were cultivated by our ancestors, worshiped by many people, and cherished for many years.
